The NHS has announced that the covid-19 vaccine will be offered to all care home residents in England.

A target has been set for the 15th February for the UK to vaccinate care home residents, carers, people over the age of 70 and frontline care workers.

So far, almost 9 million people have received their first dose of the vaccine in the UK.

Helen Whately, the Social Care Minister told BBC Radio 4 “Any care home that hasn’t been contacted, just let me know and I will personally follow up”

During the past few days, the UK government has ordered 60 million of newly approved french vaccine from pharmaceutical company called Valneva which will be available later on in the year and into 2022.

A massive milestone for us to be one step closer to be finally out of lockdown!
