Remember to change your clocks after tonight to avoid any future confusion!
Spring is finally here after what feels like the longest winter we’ve all ever experienced – we can all comfortably blame this on the three month long lockdown.
The days are lasting longer, we’re going to see more sun and higher temperatures with the clocks going back. We are all welcoming Spring in open arms this year after a lengthy winter.
Clocks always change on the last sunday of March every year – this year we’ll see the clocks change at 1am.
When you wake up tomorrow, be sure to change your clocks and watches accordingly!
Why do clocks go forward and back?
In 1784, Benjamin Franklin campaigned for the clocks to be changed during his time in Paris. He believed this would encourage people to get out of bed earlier so they’d get extra daylight.
it wasn’t until 1907 that a man named William Willett wrote about how people waste valuable daylight hours of light during the summer, the text was titled “The Waste of Daylight”.
When will the clocks change again?
Later on in the year we will move from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time on October 31st.
