A wonderfully kind gesture from local police officers and supermarket staff in Oldham.
There was an increase in concern for a family located on Eldon Street which led to two GMP officers going to the house to investigate.
A mum and her two infants were inside but the officers noticed there was hardly any food at the property and one of the children was suffering with kidney disease. Food Banks were sadly closed at that time due to it being later in the day so officers decided to head to the nearest Tesco to pick up groceries for the young family.
When officers spoke to supermarket staff they donated a wide variety of food as well as kindly throwing in some toys for the children – how lovely!
GMP Oldham Central took to social media to express their gratitude “This made a huge difference to their wellbeing and was an extremely kind donation,” they wrote.
“Thank you to all the staff at Tesco”.
The story has received lots of love and support online and from locals in the area.We can all agree that we need to see more positive and heartwarming stories like this!
