The new bars and restaurants that’ll be opening their doors when lockdown eases.

After the government’s roadmap was unveiled earlier this week, the prospects of wining and dining this year is beginning to feel like a reality.

Here are a few bars opening their doors for when lockdown gets lifted…

Ezra & Gil

One of the most popular and beloved cafes in the Northern Quarter. Ezra & Gil is already a household name for locals and now the business is expanding to a second location on Peter’s Street.

The unit used to be a Subway but is now waiting patiently for lockdown to ease so it can open its doors.

Schofield’s Bar

Joe and Daniel Schofield, two award-winning bartender brothers, are opening a new cocktail bar in the heart of the city-centre, in the historic Sunlight House.

The brothers are creating a space that will seat 70 people inside the venue, 60 outside and a menu of 24 delicious cocktails. Keep a look out for this one this Spring!

Jimmys

Jimmy’s is the place to enjoy a cool, refreshing house pint while listening to rock n roll. Originally located on Newton Street in the NQ, the bar has a new home in Ancoats on Cutting Room Square – described as similar to the Liverpool bar.

Society

Perhaps the biggest new build on this list – Society is a £1m food hall from the guys behind Assembly Underground in Leeds.

The hall will have space for five independent kitchens, a cocktail bar and a craft beer taproom.  We’re excited to see what this one looks like when it opens!

Ramona

In what was an old MOT garage across from the Mackie Mayor, Ramona is an all new food and drink hub. The venue will serve Detroit-style pizza and baked goods as well as a beer garden, coffee counter and margarita bar – how fancy!

It feels like a treat to be welcomed to new bars and restaurants after months of being in lockdown..
