The night time economy advisor has announced his mission to get bars, pubs and restaurants re-open at the same time as non-essential shops.
Sacha Lord argues the hospitality sector poses no less of a threat than shops such as retail and homeware stores.
So far the government has stated that the hospitality sector can re-open at the same as non-essential shops on April 12th but only for outdoor seating. Indoor seating is not scheduled to return until May 17th.
The government recently dropped the thought of re-introducing covid-19 restrictions for the hospitality sector including the substantial meal and 10pm curfew off the back of a court case led by Sacha Lord. The night time economy advisor said it was a “landmark victory for hospitality”.

Substantial meal rule: Gone.
We will now argue that it is SAFER in a licensed, regulated hospitality venue, with measures in place, that it is on the busy high streets
We feel that hospitality should open at the same time as non essential retail
